This writer knows how to grab a reader - put a life or death situation in the first three paragraphs. Read about the incredible and frankly, terrifying sport of freediving. It's long but it's worth it...in my opinion.
I think the writer did a great job in describing how things were at the competition. That said, free diving sounds like one of the scariest things ever.
I think the write would have no problems with creative writing seeing that article was written so vividly. Agree with Terra Shield there - diving or anything deep underwater just sounds scary!
The descriptions of those lifeless bodies being brought to the surface was terrifying. I'm not sure I could watch it.
What makes people indulge in a pastime where the definition of success is to take yourself as close to death as you can possibly get and hope you survive the return journey?
